Front Desk Operations //

Current Shift Open: 3:00pm-9:00pm



This is a great position for candidates looking to create a significant impact in a growing and dynamic community.

The Front Counter team member will greet and direct members, clients, guests and staff as they enter the NJ HIIT. This position will provide assistance to members along with inquiries about NJ HIIT operations and policies, as well as perform various administrative duties. This position shares in the responsibilities of making shakes at our shake bar, guest check-ins, member log in and inquiries of both in person and phone, plus assisting with making sure the facility floor is clean and clear of weights and any debris.

This detail-oriented individual will possess excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both staff and members. Basic understanding of accounting principles, cash processing procedures and computer skills required.

  • Strong listener with the ability to empathize and problem solve.

  • Demonstrate diplomacy in all interactions while using appropriate behavior and language.

  • High School diploma/GED equivalent preferred.

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Physical Demands- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs

  • Continual standing and walking during shift.

  • Continual talking in person or on the phone during shift.

  • Passion for the NJ HIIT brand

  • Bilingual is a plus.

  • CPR/AED training preferred



  • Handle all front desk related activities including:

  • Learn the NJ HIIT philosophy, Mission Statement, Vision and Purpose

  • Greet members, prospective members, current clients, and guests, providing exceptional customer service. 

  • Answers phone in an energetic, professional, and courteous manner and use proper phone greeting techniques to assist callers with a variety of questions.

  • Check members into the system, identify account issues and notifies team lead.

  • Ensures that guests and appointments are directed to the appropriate fitness consultant in a prompt, professional manner.

  • Update members’ accounts if needed.

  • Provides security and control to the front door and retail area of the facility.

  • Responds immediately to member requests, inquiries and concerns and elevate to team lead or Manager as needed.

  • Maintain neat appearance and wear proper uniform with name tag while on duty.

  • Give facility tours with the goal to sign up prospect for membership. 

  • Sell retail items and merchandise using NJ HIIT POS system.

  • Facilitate needed updates to member’s accounts.

  • Assist in maintaining the neatness and cleanliness of the club including being responsible for gym walk-thru as designated in the walk-thru log.

  • Logs all maintenance concerns that are reported.

  • Follows and reports any safety concerns

  • Attends all staff meetings as directed.

  • Works when scheduled and adheres to company attendance policies.

  • Aid other departments with other related tasks.

  • Performs other reasonable work assignments as directed by the General Manager and/or team Lead to include, but not limited to cleaning, organizing, clerical work, and picking up of weights.

  • All Front Desk staff are to wear company staff shirt along with either Khaki pants or black athletic pants. Sneakers must always be worn. No boots, heals, or open toe shoes or sandals. Front Desk staff should always be well groomed and neat. Opening shift employees are required to be inside the facility 15 minutes prior to scheduled opening time ensuring all items on the Opening Checklist are performed before members arrive. Closing employees are to close the facility at the established time. Employees are not to count money until all members have left NJ HIIT and the doors have been locked.
